Winter wedding at Pembroke Lodge

Pembroke Lodge Winter Wedding

Pembroke Lodge is a stunning Georgian mansion set in the tranquility of Richmond park which was lovingly restored for public use. It is now one of the top, most popular wedding venues in Surrey. Being a wedding photographer in Richmond I get excited when I photograph here even on the very wettest days like it was here. Danny and Claudia were such sports who braved and embraced the rain.

I couldn’t wait to get started and arrived at the Petersham hotel where Claudia and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the day. The hotel is ideally placed near to the entrance of the park and offers some fantastic views of the river and surrounding fields. Meanwhile Yasmina who was assisting me was with the boys was at a local pub where a lot of the guests were gathering.

Wedding Photography at Pembroke Lodge

Time flies on a wedding day and it wasn’t long till we were at Pembroke Lodge. The ceremony itself was a wonderful occasion, the Belvedere suite is full of natural light and a great room for a civil ceremony.

After the ceremony Danny and Claudia braved the rain while we had some great music from Wildfire Duo keeping the celebrations going at full swing.

There was a great touch when Danny and Claudia entered the room for dinner and Danny pulled Claudia her first drink as a married woman as the guys met years ago when Danny was behind the bar. He even did a twenty minute shift later in the eve, dedication there Danny! Great speeches followed the meal with a highly polished slideshow from the best men. It went down a storm and highlighted the fact of how awesome these guys are.

It was a absolute pleasure to be part of Claudia and Danny’s pembroke lodge wedding and hope you will treasure forever the photographs and enjoyed this glimpse of your day.

Richmond Weddings

Richmond is local to me and I love photographing weddings here. I also love spending my free time here. I’ve done many walks around the region, ate in many of the restaurants and drank in numerous bars and beer gardens. I’ve created this page just to give a few tips on where to have photos, where you can get married and where you can park. For advice and more information on getting married in the borough of Richmond then the Richmond government website is a great place to start.

Richmond Wedding Venues

Pembroke Lodge Weddings

There are a number of breathtaking venues all across Richmond. Pembroke Lodge is an extremely popular venue located inside Richmond Park. With the option to get married upstairs in the Russell suite or in the Belvedere suite with direct access to the terrace you can’t go wrong. there are beautiful landscaped gardens for some amazing photo opportunities whatever the weather.

The Bingham Weddings

The Bingham is a fab boutique hotel and restaurant a stones throw form the river thames. You can actually get by the river through a door at the end of the garden. Weddings just ooze class here. the room are amazing and the garden is a great feature and feels very secluded. There’s no parking at the hotel. Look below for some handy tips for parking when attending a wedding here.

Petersham Hotel Weddings

The Petersham hotel is a classy, sophisticated venue. You feel like you’re in the countryside. Especially if you are lucky enough to be staying in the honeymoon suite. As you can see the view from the balcony is unbelievable. You will definitely want your morning coffee looking at that view. If not coffee why not treat yourself to afternoon tea downstairs in the hotel.

The Richmond Hill Hotel is another great venue in Richmond. Excellent for a quick trip into the park. The hotel is a great spot to stay and get ready if you are getting married elsewhere in the area as is the Richmond Harbour Hotel next door. I can recommend The Gate which is the bar in the hotel itself. The decor is just so cool and is a great spot for a drink. The beer garden here is an absolute gem.

Further away but still in the borough of Richmond I can recommend Strawberry Hill House. This place just reminds me of a castle from a disney movie. The rooms are steeped in history and can hold a small intimate wedding. For larger weddings a marquee can be used on the lawn.

Photoshoot locations in Richmond

You’re lucky if you are getting married in many of the brilliant venues in Richmond as many have private grounds to shoot in. There are also many other open spaces that you can use.

Richmond Park being the most well known location in Richmond. It’s open everyday for pedestrians 24hrs apart from the deer culling months of November and February when it is open between 7.30 and 8pm. For vehicles the gates open at 7 in the winter and 7.30 in the summer and close at dusk so anytime between 4 and 9 depending on the time of year. Although a very popular park with its 2500 acres it’s easy to find your own part of the park. You might have to share it with the deer though, if you’re lucky! It’s a really fantastic spot for engagement shoots and wedding shoots. For weddings I would advise looking into a photography permit which costs £120. More information can be found on the Richmond council web site.

I love photographing at Richmond Hill and the Terrace Gardens. My favourite view in London is from the viewing point on Richmond Hill overlooking the thames. It’s such a stunning sight. The terrace gardens are a hidden gem, well not exactly hidden but quieter than Richmond park. The trees and foliage make for stunning backdrops for engagement and wedding shoots. The colours change from season to season and there never is a bad time of year to photograph there. The gardens lead all the way down to the river also which is another great photoshoot location. There are some beautiful spots all along the river going towards Twickenham. It’s one of my favourite walks in London. You pass by Marble Hill Park which again is another great photo location.

Parking for weddings in Richmond

Being such a popular borough to be married in as well as being densely populated with residential properties, parking can be an issue at times in Richmond. There is plenty of parking at Paradise Road Multi storey and the NCP car park by Richmond station. There is also a car park at the station itself. These are a little walk from some of the popular wedding locations, but could be an option if you are a guest and are meeting people before the ceremony. Off street pay as you go parking is available in some streets and I’ve highlighted some of these in the map below. A lot of the streets are residents permit only so be careful not to park there. Most of the hotel venues in central Richmond like The Petersham Hotel, Richmond Hill Hotel and Richmond Harbour Hotel all have parking on site. Do you have to pay to park in Richmond park? The answer for that is no, the parking is free at the numerous car parks in the park. They can get full quickly though. There is a car park right next to Pembroke Lodge.

” I would love to find out more about how the planning is going for your wedding. I can’t wait to get out photographing weddings again after the tough year we all had in 2020. I’m looking forward to sharing more images from the exciting weddings I have coming up. The beard might be gone by then though, I fully embraced the lockdown look and the studio selfie. “

Strawberry Hill House weddings

Strawberry Hill House Wedding Photography - C&N

Strawberry Hill House Wedding Photography

Fancy a wedding where the venue looks like its from a fairytale? Strawberry Hill house is that wedding venue. Located in Twickenham it reminds me of a scene from a disney movie every time I drive past. It's a venue local to me so I am lucky enough to have photographed there on a number of occasions. Smaller more intimate weddings can be held inside while larger gatherings can be held in a marquee on the lawn. the grounds here offer a wonderful backdrop for family and couple portraits. On this glorious sunny day in the height of summer the house looked every bit that fairytale wedding venue on this wedding of epic proportions. The day started not in Twickenham but slap bang in central London where the bride to be was preparing with her family and bridesmaids. Only a stones throw away the groom was easing into the day with his closest friends. It was so chilled when I arrived at the hotel and I had a great time photographing everyone, Christelle looked amazing in her dress and it wasn't long till we hot-footed it to the church. I say that as the temperature was sky high!

The Orthodox church service was a sight to behold and a real pleasure to photograph. The church was so welcoming, the service itself was so interesting, fun and serious in equal measure. It's a very special feeling being part of these intimate moments and I love recording them. The guys left the church with a sea of confetti raining down on them before jumping in the car to drive across London. If you've never visited Strawberry Hill house you simply must. It's an incredible example of gothic architecture. Wedding photography at strawberry hill house as you can imagine is a real pleasure. Every room is unique and offers an amazing backdrop to your photographs. The colours are superb, the sense of grandeur is off the scale and the rooms provide an amazing sense of intimacy. If you also take into account the beautiful grounds you have access to there are endless options for photographs. We arrived in good time before the guests which meant we also had time to climb onto the roof of the building.

Photography at Strawberry Hill House

Our newly weds were then introduced into the gardens of Strawberry Hill House by a number of Lebanese drummers. Everyone really got into the spirit of things and it was magical, so entertaining. We had great music, dancing and Christelle and Nick ended up in the air paraded about on the shoulders of friends and family. It was so much fun to capture. After a little breather it was time to settle in the marquee for some truly outstanding food and some quality speeches.

This was a wedding that had everything going on, it didn't stop after the speeches either. We had sparklers, games on the lawn, more incredible food and some fantastic dancing to an amazing live band. You guys know how to throw a party!

If you're looking for your strawberry hill house wedding photographer at this fantastic venue or getting married anywhere else I'd love to chat about what you want from your wedding. I love to hear how all the planning is going. Have a good look through the site and you can find my wedding gallery and send me a message through my contact form.

Pembroke Lodge Summer Wedding

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photography

When I get an enquiry for photography a Pembroke Lodge wedding, my eyes instantly light up with excitement. It's a stunning wedding venue in leafy Richmond Park with panoramic views over the River Thames. Whether you're in the Belvedere suite or the Russell suite, the staff really go the extra mile to make the day so special. Tegan and Andy's wedding was slap bang in peak season over the Bank Holiday weekend which was surely the hottest wedding I've ever photographed. An issue we don't always have to deal with!

Tegan prepared for her wedding in nearby Teddington with her bridesmaids while Andy was at his family home. that is where my fabulous second shooter for the day Deji caught up with the boys. I love capturing the events of the morning. There so much fun and nervous excitement is flowing everywhere. Having both the bride and groom's mornings photographed really adds to the overall story of the wedding day.

Emotive Wedding Photography

I absolutely love seeing those raw emotions during the ceremony. It's definitely a privilege to photograph these occasions. This was a celebration that had plenty of heartfelt moments . From the second Tegan's first bridesmaid entered the room till that march back down the Isle there were so many touching moments

Richmond Park Wedding Photography

Let's talk about that light, beautiful sunshine was in abundance all day. Thankfully there was number of shady spots for all the guests to gather during the day while from the early evening it was an absolute pleasure to be outside and gorgeous for photography. Tegan and Andy were superstars and rocked the time we had together in the gardens. So much laughter and love was captured. It really is a joy photographing these special moments knowing that these will be looked at for many years to come.

The room in the Russell suite looked perfect. The already stunning ambience was enhanced with very classy looking floral decorations and a cake from a British bake off winner none the less. Lots of laughs could be heard from this room during the speeches which had us all entertained.

London Wetlands Centre Wedding Photography - Olivia and Matt

London Wetlands Centre Wedding Photography

I was delighted to be asked to photograph Olivia and Matt's wedding and to be their London Wetland Centre wedding photographer. The day started for me in Barnes, a leafy Borough of London close to the river thames and home to many conservation areas and parks. I love photographing weddings in this part of London. It's very local to me and is an area I know very well. A great area for getting away from the bustle of London not to mention plenty of great restaurants and pubs. The views aren't too shabby either!

I met Olivia at her parents home in Barnes. It was such a lovely relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It made my job of capturing the morning preparations an absolute pleasure. Thank you to Olivia and the family for making me feel so welcome. While I was in Barnes, Deji my second shooter for the day was capturing Matt getting ready with his family in Hammersmith.

Olivia arrived looking majestic at the church and was walked down the aisle by her father. A really lovely ceremony took place with the most amazing choir and musical arrangement I've ever heard. I was totally blown away by how entertaining the ceremony was. Hats off to all of those involved. Afterwards everyone gathered outside for a confetti run through the church grounds before heading off to the Wetlands Centre.

The London Wetland Centre is only a 10 minute walk from the church, a lovely walk in the summer sunshine. The guests then gathered in the Observatory which looks over the wetlands with the London skyline as the backdrop. What a great way to enjoy your canapé's and a glass of champagne. you can also do a spot of bird watching! There are lots of open spaces at the wetlands centre which brings many photo opportunities as you take a stroll in the grounds. This is a must to make full use of this beautiful venue. With all the formal photos out of the way it was then time to get the party started. Here are some of the photos that I took from the day.
