Wedding Photography at Frensham Heights

Frensham Heights is an amazing wedding venue near Farnham in Surrey. During term time lucky students attend this private Edwardian school set in fantastic grounds overlooking the Surrey countryside. On this day though it was all about the wedding. With the sun shining we could take full advantage and use the outside gardens and grounds for the wedding ceremony which looked incredible in the sunshine.

With the girls all getting ready at the venue I headed there in the morning. There were no signs of nerves at this wedding. A very relaxed lovely morning ensued. The only danger was making sure the super organised groom and groomsmen didn't get a glimpse of the bride when they arrived in plenty of time. It wasn't long till all the guests arrived though and headed through the gardens to await the bride.

After a fantastic heartfelt ceremony we were able to use the beautiful lawns for canapé's and photographs before heading inside to the wonderfully decorated ball room for the wedding breakfast. Frensham Heights has a number of different elegant rooms, all bright and airy which makes it a joy to photograph at.

I have to mention one of the best first dance's I've seen. After a gentle start it evolved into a mash up of a number of songs and co-ordinated dance moves that definitely kept everyone entertained. No-one else could match those moves for the rest of the evening!

If you are getting married at Frensham Heights or any other venue I would love to hear from you to discuss your day in more detail.

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photography

Pembroke Lodge situated in Richmond Park is a beautiful Georgian mansion that has hosted weddings for over 50 years. This means you’re in exceptional hands. The team are absolute stars at organising and managing a wedding. I find them to be one of the best in the business.

belvedere Pembroke Lodge

Belvedere Suite

You have a choice of two rooms for your wedding at Pembroke Lodge. The Belvedere suite is situated at the rear of the house and was purposely built for weddings. The light in this space is amazing no matter what the weather is like outside. It has direct access to the terrace outside and those spectacular views across the Thames Valley. The Belvedere can have seating for 140 people during the day and can have 200 people for the evening celebration.

Pembroke Lodge Russel Suite

Russell Suite

The Russell suite is located upstairs in the mansion. It’s also a very bright room and you have access to the other rooms on this floor. All of them give you a different view of the beautiful surroundings. You can seat 70 guests in the Russell suite and 100 guests for the evening. Whichever suite you choose they are both incredibly photogenic and will provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding.

I feel privileged to be a wedding photographer at Pembroke Lodge. The grounds are stunning no matter what the weather. If it’s an engagement shoot, family portraits or photos of the newly wed couple you can’t beat the gardens here. There are a number of areas you can use for locations and backdrops to get some stunning photographs.

Pembroke Lodge is located in Richmond Park. The nearest entrance is at the top of Richmond Hill and is a 2 minute drive and a 10 min walk from the entrance to the park. You can find parking directly in front of the house. It is free on a first come first served basis. The entrance to the park does close at dusk so make sure to leave by then if you drive. Although you can leave your car  and use taxi services to pick you up at the end of the night.

    Strawberry Hill House Wedding Photography

Strawberry Hill House is a first class wedding venue in Twickenham, South West London. It also happens to be one of the most photogenic venues that I have ever shot at. There are so many locations inside the house and on the expansive lawns to give you endless photo opportunities.

Unique setting for a wedding ceremony

Strawberry Hill House was built by Horace Walpole, son of the first prime minister Sir Robert Walpole in the 18th Century. It is without doubt one of the finest examples of Georgian gothic architecture in the country. The house underwent a two year restoration and reopened to the public in October 2010. The history and charm of this magnificent building is a sight to behold. Each room inside the house has been lovingly restored and has its own character, from the gallery with its fan vaulted ceilings with gold canapés and crimson damask to the wonderful hall and staircase. The latter making a stunning backdrop for bridal portraits. The amount of renaissance stained glass is very impressive and casts some beautiful light into many of the rooms. Being a twickenham wedding photographer these are the sorts of venues that get you excited!

Your actual wedding breakfast can be held inside the house or in St Mary's collage which is adjacent to the house. This provides some larger rooms and is still itself an impressive building that is very spacious and bright if you are having a larger wedding. On a lovely dry day your guests will love taking drinks and canapés on the lawns while you mingle with them. Throughout the year the gardens change with the seasons and look stunning whatever time of year.

    Denbies Wine Estate Wedding Photography

Photographing weddings at Denbies Wine Estate  is always so much fun. As you’ll see from the following photographs Sian and Dan’s was no exception. Denbies Wine Estate is a family-run business in Dorking. Not only is it an amazing backdrop for photography it also happens to be one of the largest wine producers in the UK. The guests are in for a treat!

My photographs are very natural and relaxed which was very much the atmosphere at the cottage adjacent to the estate where Sian and her team of bridesmaids were preparing for the day ahead. The cottage provides great accommodation if you are getting married at the vineyard.

Meanwhile Dan was waiting for the arrival of the bridal party.

The ceremony itself was a lovely heartfelt moment that no doubt went by in a blur for Sian and Dan. It wasn’t long before everyone was outside in the lovely courtyard having drinks and canapes. The vinyards at Denbies are beutiful so I then took the opportunity to take the guys and the immediate wedding party into the glorious vines to make full use of that late afternoon sun.

The wedding breakfast took place in the conservatory atrium, which happens to host a fountain and tropical plants. They were thriving in this sunny weather. Before the live music and entertainment in the evening it would have been rude not to visit the cellar at a vineyard so I whisked Sian and Dan down there for a few shots.

Thanks to Sian and Dan for being an absolute pleasure to photograph and for choosing me to share your special day, I had a brilliant time. Also thanks to Denbies Wine Estate for being very accommodating and what a venue to shoot in!

    Orleans House Gallery Weddings

I was thrilled when Mark and Carrie chose me to be their Orleans House Gallery wedding photographer. The gallery itself is in a quiet location within walking distance from the river Thames. It's a great venue for an intimate Richmond wedding as the Octagon room can hold 60 guests. A beautiful spring day greeted me as I drove up the path to Orleans House which is always a bonus for a March wedding. I started by photographing the grand baroque room built in 1721 which is a beautiful room naturally lit with high impressive ceilings and huge windows. By this time the first of the guests had started to arrive and also Mark, the Groom. It wasn't long before the wedding car with Carrie and her family was driving towards Orleans house gallery ahead of schedule which ensured a hasty retreat indoors for Mark and the guests so not to grab a quick look at the bride pre ceremony.

Carrie looking amazing was escorted with her family and made her entrance into the Orleans House Gallery where the lovely intimate service took place. With the weather so fine it was outside for drinks and canapé's on the lawn with Orleans House a perfect backdrop. After the family group shots I made use of the gorgeous light with Carrie and Mark while the guests headed to The Victoria Pub in nearby Sheen also in Richmond.  I'd already eaten here previously so I knew the food was going to be top quality and the guests would be in for a treat. The speeches were great fun and were done behind the bar and ended with appearances from Harry Hill and Lee Sharpe, well in mask form anyway!

The pub was packed to the rafters with family and friends in the evening. Live music was provided by the Zen Relics which ensured the dance floor was always occupied. I left the happy couple celebrating into the small hours. If you are looking to get married in Richmond then Orleans House Gallery would be a great place for your wedding.

Thanks to Mark and Carrie for choosing me to be part of their special day. I wish you a lifetime of happiness. You can find more examples of my work in my gallery here or if your looking for a Richmond Wedding Photographer then send me a message to discuss your special day in more detail. Here are some photos from the day.
